Plain-language change summary

The amendment to SB 798 clarifies that all state-funded institutions in West Virginia are required to purchase a certain percentage of their fresh produce, meat, and dairy products from in-state producers. It specifically adds pasteurized milk and other dairy foods to this requirement, ensuring that these products are part of the locally sourced items that institutions must buy. This change is important because it supports local agriculture, promotes the consumption of locally produced food, and potentially benefits the state's economy by keeping food purchases within West Virginia.
