The recent amendments to HB 4647 clarify the conditions under which bids for video lottery terminal permits are considered, emphasizing that bids must meet a minimum bid amount and include a required bond. Additionally, the bill now explicitly grants priority to current permit holders to reacquire their permits at the minimum bid price before they are offered to new applicants. This change is significant because it aims to support existing businesses while ensuring that the bidding process is fair and transparent.
