Plain-language change summary

The updated version of HB 2008 made a few important changes to ballot security procedures. One change simplifies the ballot return process by allowing county auditors to use a single return envelope that fully conceals the ballot, rather than requiring separate security and return envelopes. Additionally, the bill now specifies that return envelopes for all ballots must include prepaid postage, making it easier for voters to send back their completed ballots. These changes aim to enhance the voting experience by protecting voter privacy and ensuring that ballots can be returned without any financial burden.
