Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 522 clarify the language around the types of care and accommodations covered, ensuring it explicitly lists both medical and psychological support, making the bill more comprehensive. Additionally, it refines the definition of "contributory misconduct" by specifying who is considered the victim in sexual offenses and the requirement for forensic examinations after incidents, which may help streamline claims related to these situations. These changes are important as they aim to better support victims by clearly outlining their rights and the processes involved in seeking assistance.
