The amendment to Bill HB 1544 removes a specific clause that exempted smaller counties (those with a population of less than 200,000) from certain rules regarding the effective dates of various growth management actions. This change means that all counties, regardless of size, will now follow the same timeline for implementing changes related to urban growth areas and land designations. This is significant because it creates a level playing field for larger and smaller counties in managing growth and development, ensuring consistent application of the growth management act across the state.
