Plain-language change summary

The changes to SB 605 clarify the definition of "complex rehabilitation technology" to explicitly include power seat elevation and power standing components of power wheelchairs. Additionally, the bill strengthens the role of physicians by requiring the Department of Health Services to accept a physician’s determination of medical necessity for these items, which helps ensure that patients receive the necessary equipment to support their daily activities. This matters because it aims to improve access to crucial mobility technology for individuals with complex needs, ultimately enhancing their quality of life.
