Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill AB 798 clarifies that the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will provide grants specifically for water improvement projects that focus on removing certain types of fish from lakes and adding others to enhance water quality. It adds a competitive application process for these grants, ensuring that projects prioritizing both fish removal and introduction, along with thorough fish studies, are favored. This matters because it sets clear criteria for funding, aiming to improve the effectiveness of water quality initiatives in Wisconsin's lakes.
