Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Senate Bill 654 includes the addition of language that allows spouses of service members who died while in military service to qualify for reciprocal credentials. This change expands eligibility for these credentials beyond service members and veterans to include their surviving spouses. Additionally, it permits individuals who cannot provide official documentation of their service to submit a sworn affidavit instead, making the process more accessible. These modifications aim to better support military families by recognizing their sacrifices and making it easier for them to pursue professional opportunities in the state.
