The amendment to HB 582 adjusts the inspection fees for motorcycles and other vehicles. It sets the motorcycle inspection fee at $12, decreased from $15, while increasing the inspection fee for other vehicles to $20, up from $16. This change is significant because it aims to ensure that motorcycle riders receive a more affordable inspection while also increasing funding for the inspection program, which contributes to road safety.
