The recent amendments to Bill SB 187 introduce a clearer process for notifying adjacent property owners when modifications to zoning requests are made. Property owners will now receive written notice and have 21 days to respond before a decision is made. Additionally, the penalties for zoning violations have been adjusted, with fines reduced from a maximum of $2,500 to $2,000. These changes aim to enhance communication and ensure fair treatment of adjacent property owners while also simplifying the penalty structure for zoning infractions.
