Plain-language change summary

The updated bill now explicitly requires the West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy to conduct state and national criminal history record checks as a condition for issuing licenses to physical therapists and assistants. Additionally, it allows the board to use the results of these checks and defines how the information can be shared, ensuring it remains private except under specific circumstances. This change is significant as it strengthens the licensing process by ensuring that potential applicants are adequately screened for any criminal history, ultimately promoting public safety and trust in healthcare professionals.
