Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 154 now specifies that school facilities can be used for funeral and memorial services, particularly for community members who are military veterans or first responders. It emphasizes the impact of such deaths on students and the community, while maintaining that these events should not interfere with regular school activities. This change is important because it honors the contributions of certain individuals to the community and provides a respectful space for memorializing them. Additionally, it clarifies the responsibilities of local school boards regarding any costs associated with these services.
