Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 26 allow full-time employees of educational services cooperatives to participate in the State Teachers Retirement System and the State Teachers’ Defined Contribution Retirement System. This is a significant change because it opens retirement benefits to these employees, ensuring they have access to the same retirement plans as traditional teachers. By including these employees, the legislation aims to attract and retain talent in educational services, ultimately benefiting the quality of education in West Virginia.
