Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 3141 clarifies the requirement for approval from the Capitol Building Commission before making significant renovations to the state capitol and its surrounding complex. Notably, it specifies that changes affecting the appearance must be approved if they involve substantial physical alterations, including work over $40,000. This matters because it strengthens oversight on how state properties are modified, ensuring that renovations maintain the historical integrity and appearance of important government buildings and areas.
