The bill HB 2850 has been amended to reduce the minimum requirement for holding a regular driver's license before obtaining a commercial driver's instruction permit from two years to one year. This change allows individuals aged 18 and older, who already have some experience driving with a regular license, to start the process of obtaining a commercial license sooner. This could help alleviate the shortage of commercial drivers by making it easier for young drivers to enter the workforce.
