What changed in the latest version
58 added · 58 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of SB 654 clarifies the definition of a "mortgage loan originator" by making explicit exceptions for retailers of manufactured or modular homes, and refines the language regarding related relationships among family members. This change is important because it helps ensure that individuals involved in the sale of these homes are properly classified, which can affect their ability to facilitate mortgage loans and contribute to a clearer regulatory environment. Additionally, the adjustments to the definitions make the bill easier to understand for those impacted by it.
