The amendment to HB 2492 added specific requirements for reporting situations involving adult abuse or neglect. It emphasizes that reports should be made immediately by telephone to local adult protective services and establishes a clear process for emergency situations, including a 24-hour toll-free reporting line. This change is important because it aims to ensure timely intervention and support for vulnerable adults, enhancing their protection and the efficiency of the reporting system.
