The updated version of Bill HB 2005 has added provisions for defining terms and establishing a specific method for valuation of wireless technology property for tax purposes. Additionally, it now requires the Broadband Enhancement Council and the Public Service Commission to assist electric utilities with feasibility studies for middle-mile broadband projects, and sets a timeline for these assessments. These changes are important because they aim to streamline the process for evaluating and developing broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved areas, potentially improving access to high-speed internet for residents.
