Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 901 removes the specific mention of "microtrenching" as a method utility companies can use to install high-speed Internet services in the state's right-of-way. Instead, it now broadly allows approved utility companies to apply for the use of any maintained right-of-way without specifying the method. This change is significant because it provides more flexibility for utility companies to adapt their approaches, potentially speeding up the process of expanding high-speed Internet access in the region.
