Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 519 adds specific requirements for training emergency medical dispatchers in telephonic cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It clarifies that the training must include protocols for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests and specifies deadlines for completing the training based on when individuals were hired. This is important because it ensures that dispatchers are better prepared to assist callers in emergency situations, potentially saving more lives by providing effective CPR guidance over the phone.
