The amendment to Bill SB 501 decreases the required seating capacity of the indoor arena from 3,000 to 2,000 persons and reduces the minimum land area from 90 acres to 40 acres. This change expands the criteria for locations that can qualify for the tax, allowing more venues in Wythe County to implement a tax on admissions for events. This matters because it increases potential revenue for local government, which can be used to support community services and events.
