Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill SB 758 clarify the definition of a "real estate broker" by slightly adjusting the language, making it more inclusive of different types of business entities. It retains the essential functions of a broker but emphasizes that the definition applies to individuals as well as various business forms such as partnerships and corporations. These changes matter because they help ensure that the law accurately reflects the current structure of the real estate industry, which has evolved to include many different types of business arrangements. This clarity can help both professionals in the industry and consumers understand who is qualified to operate as a real estate broker in Virginia.
