What changed in the latest version
79 added · 80 removedPlain-language change summary
The revised version of SB 130 allows students from non-member private or religious schools, often referred to as "Tebow students," to participate in extracurricular activities at West Virginia schools that are part of the Secondary School Activities Commission. The changes specify that these activities include various programs beyond just athletics, and they remove a requirement that these activities be unavailable at the student's current school. This matters because it broadens participation opportunities for students who might not have access to certain extracurricular programs, fostering inclusivity and engagement in school activities regardless of their current school affiliation.
