Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 5346 establish a new scholarship program for students participating in the legislative page programs of the Washington State Senate and House of Representatives. This program, named the Gina Grant Bull Memorial Legislative Page Scholarship Program, aims to provide financial support based on need. Additionally, the amendments clarify how funds for the program will be raised and managed, allowing legislative officials to solicit donations while ensuring the funds are used exclusively for the scholarship purposes. This change is significant as it creates opportunities for more students to engage with state government, potentially fostering future civic leadership.
