The updated version of SB 555 includes changes that clarify eligibility criteria for individuals applying for direct care positions in health or developmental services. Specifically, it adds requirements for criminal history screenings, stating that applicants must be free from any legal supervision for at least five years and outlines what documents they need to provide. This matters because it aims to ensure that individuals working in sensitive roles have a clear record, enhancing safety for those receiving care.
