What changed in the latest version
72 added · 72 removedPlain-language change summary
The amended version of SB 563 removes "motorized scooter" and "electric motors" from the definition of "moped" and instead clarifies the requirements for drivers to hold a specific type of license when operating commercial vehicles. Additionally, it maintains the provision that helmets are required for moped riders. These changes are important because they streamline regulations regarding moped classification and ensure that safety measures, like helmet use, are enforced, which could help reduce accidents and enhance public safety on the roads.
