Plain-language change summary

The amended bill SB 6155 now requires the Department of Licensing to allow applicants for driver's licenses and ID cards to express interest in bone marrow donation and receive related information electronically or in hard copy. This change is significant because it aims to increase the number of individuals registered as potential bone marrow donors, particularly from diverse backgrounds, which is crucial for matching patients with blood diseases. Additionally, the timeline for the report on public awareness efforts has been extended to December 1, 2020, to provide more time for the initiative to take effect.
