Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 282 exempt the State Conservation Committee and the Conservation Agency from certain purchasing requirements specifically for contracts related to natural disaster recovery activities and joint funding agreements with the United States Geological Survey. Previously, the focus was primarily on flood recovery and stream restoration. This broader exemption aims to streamline the process for these agencies, allowing for quicker responses during emergencies, which can be crucial for effective disaster recovery efforts.
