Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 62 now allows counties to hire individuals with a full attendance certification or those with a professional administrative certificate without the requirement of them having applied for the position first. This change simplifies the hiring process for attendance directors, making it easier for counties to fill these important roles, especially if there are no fully certified applicants available. This is important because it helps ensure that schools have qualified leaders in attendance management, which can impact student success.
