The recent updates to Senate Bill 6089 include an increase in the total amount of authorized bonds for capital projects from approximately $2.93 billion to about $2.94 billion. This change also facilitates funding for watershed restoration and enhancement, now allowing for $200 million in bonds specifically for this purpose. These updates are important because they enable the state to finance critical infrastructure projects and environmental restoration efforts, which can promote public safety and improve natural resources in Washington.
