The amendments to Bill SB 6502 primarily clarify eligibility criteria for housing support for individuals with disabilities and seniors. Notably, it removes the previous restriction that denied support to individuals whose unemployment was primarily due to alcohol or drug addiction unless specific conditions were met, allowing more individuals access to assistance. Additionally, the bill now stipulates that recipients must regularly verify their continued eligibility. These changes aim to improve access to support for vulnerable populations, ensuring that those at risk of losing housing can receive necessary help more effectively.
