Plain-language change summary

The latest version of SB 495 adds more specific language regarding the filing requirements for insurance rates, particularly focusing on casualties and marine insurance. It specifies that certain insurance coverages, especially those purchased by commercial policyholders with annual premiums of $25,000 or more, are exempt from these filing requirements. This change is significant because it may decrease the regulatory burden on businesses, allowing them greater flexibility in managing their insurance costs.
