Plain-language change summary

The latest version of SB 6036 introduces a new work group focused on studying and recommending strategies for natural disaster mitigation and resiliency in Washington State. Changes include a more streamlined membership structure, reducing the number of representatives from the insurance industry, and eliminating certain agency representatives such as the director of the department of ecology and the superintendent of public instruction. This matters because a more focused group can better address the pressing issues following natural disasters by ensuring a targeted approach to developing effective recommendations.
