The recent amendments to SB 876 introduce a new section regarding the Kinship Guardianship Assistance program, enhancing support for neglected children and their guardians. The modifications clarify definitions related to adult foster care, specifically stating that care can be provided for up to three adults by a single provider, and establish criteria that exclude certain facilities and family homes from this regulation. These changes matter because they aim to ensure that vulnerable populations receive appropriate care while maintaining regulatory clarity for both caregivers and facilities.
