Plain-language change summary

The amended SB 576 updates the Patient Injury Compensation Fund by changing the dates for collecting fees and assessments paid by trauma centers. It specifies that a $25 assessment per trauma patient will be due on June 30 each year for specific treatment years rather than being assessed annually until 2020. Additionally, it clarifies who is responsible for paying these assessments under certain circumstances. These changes are important as they help streamline the payment process and ensure that funds are collected consistently for supporting injured patients.
