What changed in the latest version

The recent amendment to Bill SB 5228 removes the section that established a joint legislative task force on hydraulic project approval program jurisdiction. This change means that there will no longer be a special group designated to review and recommend changes to the laws surrounding hydraulic project permits. The significance of this alteration lies in the potential for reduced oversight and input from various stakeholders, including businesses, local governments, and conservationists, who might otherwise have had a voice in shaping these important environmental policies.
