The recent amendment to Bill HB 4162 allows the State Conservation Committee greater authority to directly contract for services related to natural disaster recovery and flood restoration. This change enables the Committee to better comply with federal regulations and respond more effectively to disasters. Additionally, outdated references in the code have been removed for clarity. These updates are important because they empower the Committee to act swiftly and efficiently when addressing natural disasters and managing resources for recovery efforts.
