Plain-language change summary

The amendment to HB 2202 clarifies that emergency medical technicians (EMTs) can now establish retirement credit for their service dating back to July 24, 2005. This change is significant because it allows EMTs to include their work history in a firefighters' retirement plan, potentially enhancing their retirement benefits. This expansion aims to recognize the important role of EMTs in public safety and ensures they are not disadvantaged compared to other first responders in terms of retirement planning.
