Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 508 creates a State Trail Authority within the West Virginia Development Office, which is responsible for promoting and managing trails in the state. Key changes include establishing a clear structure for the authority, outlining the appointment process for its 15 voting members by the Governor with Senate consent, and allowing for reimbursed expenses for certain members. This is significant because it enhances the state's ability to oversee trail development and coordination, ensuring better management and maintenance of outdoor recreational resources.
