Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 477 introduces a sunset provision for tax credits, which means that these credits will automatically expire after five years unless specified otherwise in the law that created them. This change affects existing tax credits that are amended after the new law takes effect, ensuring they also follow this five-year rule. By establishing this sunset provision, the legislature aims to encourage regular review of tax credits, helping to ensure they remain beneficial and relevant without becoming permanent financial obligations. This change matters because it promotes accountability in tax incentives, allowing for adjustments based on their effectiveness over time.
