The latest version of Bill SB 598 includes new language that makes clear the liability of county commissions and municipalities when it comes to injuries caused by defects in public walkways, roads, and bridges. Specifically, it clarifies that if an employee is present at the site performing maintenance work, they may be held accountable for any resulting damages. This change aims to provide clearer guidelines for responsibility in these situations, which can help ensure public safety and potentially streamline the claims process for injured parties.
