Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 561 has been amended to increase the minimum contract price requiring contractors to execute a bond from $15,000 to $25,000. This change is important because it raises the threshold at which financial protection is mandated for projects, potentially reducing the number of smaller contracts that need to meet this requirement. By doing so, it aims to streamline the bonding process for contractors and may encourage more participation in smaller projects.
