Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 1010 has been amended to change the termination date of the Volunteer Fire Department Workers’ Compensation Premium Subsidy Fund from June 30, 2017, to June 30, 2020. This means that the fund will continue to operate and provide financial support to volunteer firefighters for an additional three years. This extension is important because it helps ensure that volunteer firefighters have the necessary resources for their workers' compensation needs for a longer period of time. Additionally, it clarifies how any remaining funds will be handled once the subsidy fund closes, ensuring a smooth transition back to the Fire Protection Fund.
