Plain-language change summary

The revised bill now proposes a three percent increase in monthly benefits for retirees under the teachers' and public employees' retirement systems, up from a two percent increase in the previous version. This change is significant because it means retirees will receive a greater boost in their monthly incomes, which could help them better manage their expenses in retirement. Both increases are still capped at a maximum of $62.50, but the higher percentage increase reflects a move towards providing more financial support to these beneficiaries.
