Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 2969 changes the deadline for annual filers to submit their business and occupation tax returns. Instead of being due on the first day of the third month after the end of the reporting period, filers will now have until the last day of the third month. This change aims to ease the burden on taxpayers who are waiting for important documents, like the 1099 form, which can delay their ability to accurately file taxes. Ultimately, this extension allows taxpayers more time to gather necessary information, reducing the need for later amendments to their returns.
