Plain-language change summary

The changes to SB 5132 expand the enforcement powers of liquor enforcement officers in Washington State. Specifically, the bill now allows these officers to enforce laws related to impaired driving by patrons in licensed locations, in addition to their existing powers over liquor, marijuana, tobacco, and vapor products. This matters because it strengthens the role of enforcement officers in promoting safety around alcohol-serving establishments, potentially reducing incidents of impaired driving.
