Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 5212 clarify how land use control ordinances apply to building permit and land division applications. Notably, they now specify that these applications will be considered based solely on the regulations in effect on the date of application, regardless of whether these regulations were introduced to comply with state law. This change simplifies the process for applicants by ensuring that they will not be affected by future changes to land use laws after their applications have been submitted, promoting consistency and predictability in the permitting process.
