Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 5700 add a requirement for long-term care workers, adult family home licensees, assisted living facility operators, and nursing home licensees to complete at least one hour of cultural competency training focused on the LGBTQ community. This training is designed to help these providers better understand and meet the needs of LGBTQ individuals in their care. Ensuring that care providers are equipped with this knowledge is important for fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all patients, particularly those from marginalized communities.
