The recent amendment to HB 1378 clarifies the process for disqualifying judges in superior courts. It now specifies that parties can file a notice of disqualification before any significant ruling is made by the judge, simplifying the process. This change is important as it aims to ensure fair trials and helps to avoid delays in legal proceedings by clearly outlining when a judge can be disqualified. Additionally, it limits each party to just one disqualification notice per case, which helps keep the judicial process efficient.
