Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 2184 clarifies the language regarding the assessment of inmates with mental illness. The term "mental illness" is now explicitly referenced, and the phrase "substantial likelihood" has been removed, streamlining the criteria the court must evaluate when determining if an inmate should receive hospital treatment. These changes ensure that the focus is more directly on the needs of inmates with mental health issues, potentially leading to more appropriate care and treatment in hospital settings.
